M08 · Building Agents & Automations

Stage D — Engineering · Persona: Builders · Duration: half-day · Format: hands-on · Prereqs: M07

Objective

Turn repeated company work into agents and automations, and ship one that runs.

Why it matters

Literacy and connectors only pay off when work runs without a human each time. This is the first durable ROI the company can point to — and the pattern the OS scales.

Learning outcomes

By the end, builders can: - Spot good automation candidates (repetitive, rule-ish, high-volume, low-judgment). - Design a simple agent/automation: trigger → steps → tools → output → human check. - Build and run one automation on the company's own work. - Monitor it and know when to keep a human in the loop.

Agenda

  1. What to automate first — the candidate filter (30)
  2. Anatomy of an agent/automation (30)
  3. Design the company's first automation together (45)
  4. Build it (90)
  5. Test, add a human checkpoint, ship (45)
  6. Operating & monitoring basics (30)
